Our process to clearer hearing

At ihearclear, we firmly believe in being thorough and listening to you so that we can tailor a solution specifically to solve your hearing concerns.

Your journey with us starts with a comprehensive Hearing assessment

Step 1. Hearing assessment

The main aim of a hearing assessment is to identify any concerns that you have with your hearing ability as well as your hearing levels.

  • A thorough discussion where we do most of the listening on the areas where you would like to hear better
  • A detailed medical history to identify any causes of a hearing loss
  • Otoscopy – Examining your ear to check the condition of your outer ear and eardrum. Also to check for any blockages such as wax in your ear
  • Pure Tone Audiometry-(Hearing test). Headphones will be placed over your ears and we will ask you to respond to different speech frequency tones. This will identify the quietest sounds that you can hear and whether you require any amplification to hear clearer.
  • A detailed explanation of your hearing test result so that you are fully informed of the levels of your hearing
  • Hearing aids- If a hearing loss is identified and a hearing aid would be suitable, we would advise on the best solution to match your hearing loss and meet your requirements. Note that we are here to offer you professional advice with no pressure tactics whether you decide to purchase a hearing aid or not.
  • If you decide to try a hearing aid, then we would take the necessary measurements to get the right fit and style for you
  • An appointment will be arranged to fit your hearing aids usually within 2 weeks.

Step 2 Hearing aid fitting

At the hearing aid fitting appointment, your hearing aids will be programmed using audiological software to match the prescription obtained from your hearing test.

  • A thorough explanation on what to expect from the hearing aids will be discussed
  • Your hearing aids will be connected to the computer and then programmed to your hearing loss
  • The hearing aids will be fitted to your ear making sure they are a comfortable fit and fine tuned to make the sound comfortable for you to take away.
  • A thorough explanation on the instructions of the hearing aid will be explained to you so that you will be confident with how they work straight away, leaving you to get used to the sound.
  • Once you are happy, you take them away and use them. Welcome to clearer hearing.

Step 3. Ongoing after care

You journey with us does not stop once you have taken them away. We understand that with time things change including your hearing requirements. We provide a full ongoing aftercare support service included within the price of your hearing aids.

  • A follow up appointment will be made within 2 weeks of your hearing aids being fitted. At this appointment we will discuss your experiences with the hearing aids and fine tune them if required. We will answer any questions that you may have.
  • If required a further appointment will be made 2 weeks later. Once you are happy with the hearing aids then we will arrange an aftercare appointment with you for 6 months. If you require an appointment sooner then we are only a phone call away
  • A free hearing test annually will be arranged to check for any changes in your hearing and re-set the hearing aids if required.
  • At any time after your hearing aids have been fitted you require an appointment then don’t hesitate, pick up the phone and we will arrange an appointment to deal with any queries you may have.
