About Octicon

About Oticon
Founded in 1904 by Hans Demant, whose wife suffered from hearing loss, Oticon was built on care and empathy from the very beginning.
Powered by a relentless drive for innovation, Oticon has since been at the absolute forefront of technology that improves the lives of people with hearing loss
Their misson statement is “To help people with hearing loss fulfil their potential while living the life they choose – with the hearing they have”.
To achieve this, Oticon strives to be the leader in high performance hearing solutions, and to supply the most sophisticated technology and audiology possible.
Oticon employs more than 3000 people and creates hearing solutions that benefit people in more than 100 countries around the world with their head office in Denmark
Oticon’s latest technology focuses on the way the brain hears speech. Their hearing aids support the way the brain works and make sense of sound.
The basic philosophy of BrainHearing is to support your brain by giving it the conditions it needs to create meaning from sound – instead of overloading it by turning up the volume.
Oticon hearing aids and technology
Oticon’s newest hearing aids break the limits of what was previously thought impossible.
Oticon Opn S

Fuelled by the new, advanced Velox S™ platform, Oticon Opn S takes the open sound experience and unique benefits of BrainHearing™ to new grounds.
The New Oticon Opn S hearing aids help you break free of restrictions and join the conversation in difficult listening environments
A 360° sound experience – Oticon Opn S comes with improved technology that gives your brain access to the relevant sounds around you. Previously, most hearing aids coped with noisy environments by focusing on one speaker – typically the one in front of you. Now, OpenSound Navigator™, the technology in Oticon Opn S gives you access to the relevant sounds around you, including speech, and puts you in charge of which sounds you want to focus on.
You don’t hear with your ears, you hear with your brain. That’s why you need hearing aids that are fast enough to keep up with the brain. BrainHearing™ technology in Oticon Opn S scans the environment 100 times per second. This gives you constant access to 360° sounds to support the way your brain naturally makes sense of sound.
The benefits of the Oticon Opn S BrainHearing™ Technlogy

- Helps you remember more of what is being said
